Writing Application & Impact

To meet 6th-grade standards, students will analyze ocean influence on climate. They will write a short application piece explaining how ocean pollution disrupts these systems by releasing carbon, warming the water, and causing ice caps to melt. Finally, students will list three actionable solutions to solve the problem of ocean pollution.

Meet JoDee Luna

JoDee Luna is an experienced mixed media artist who creates one-of-a-kind masquerade masks using sculptural and decorative techniques. She begins by molding mask forms from clay or plaster cloth, then brings them to life with layers of acrylic paint, feathers, embellishments, and symbolic details. Her masks reflect emotion, culture, and creativity—making each piece a unique work of art. JoDee believes masks are more than decoration—they’re a way to explore identity, tell stories, and express the imagination.
